Create Iris folded gift and greetings cards using the iris folding technique where folded strips of coloured or patterned paper or ribbon are layered in a spiral pattern behind an aperture. It is known as iris folding because the centre of the pattern looks like an iris diaphragm or a camera lens shutter. The hole at the centre of the camera or eye is called the pupil, or aperture, and the surrounding area is the iris.
